Canada Greener Homes 0% Interest Loan

The Canada Greener Homes Loan offers interest-free financing up to $40,000 to help Canadians make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable.

 

The loan can help you finance retrofits that are recommended by an energy advisor, have not yet been started and are eligible for a Canada Greener Homes Grant.

  • Maximum: $40,000
    Minimum: $5,000
    Repayment term: 10 years, interest-free
    Loan type: Unsecured personal loan on approved credit

EV Charger Rebates with FortisBC or BC Hydro

Fully Electric Vehicle or Hybrid Electric Vehicle - there are rebates from FortisBC & BC Hydro to install your own Level 2 EV Charger at home. 

Get a rebate of up to $350 to install a Level 2 (240 volt) charging station in your single-family home, duplex, or other semi-detached housing type.

$350 FortisBC EV Charger Rebate

The FortisBC Home and Workplace EV Charging Program helps you save on the costs of purchasing and installing an eligible Level 2 charging station for an electric vehicle. Full details at FortisBC.

 

$350 BC Hydro EV Charger Rebate

Owners or residents of single-family homes, row homes, or duplexes that purchase and install an eligible Level 2 EV charger could receive a rebate of up to 50% of costs, to a maximum of $350.

BC Hydro is also offering funding of up to $250 for single-family home customers who install an eligible smart EV charger.

CleanBC is offering Rebates for your Home

The CleanBC Better Homes website is an online hub for homeowners and businesses to access information about all of the options available to them. 
 

For example there are rebates available in Kelowna for:

 - Installing a Heat Pump (both ducted and ductless)

 - Installing a High Efficiency Furnace

 - Upgrading a Fireplace

 - Upgrading to an On Demand Water heater

 - Upgrading Windows, Insulation and more.

CleanBC Better Homes is funded by the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada under the Low Carbon Economy Leadership Fund.

FortisBC Heat pump rebate

Get up to $2,000 in rebates when you replace your existing hard-wired electric heating system such as electric baseboards, radiant ceiling, radiant floors or a forced-air furnace. (Note: The back-up space heating system must also be electric).

 

Before beginning work, make sure you qualify for this rebate by reviewing the Program Rebate Requirements, as outlined in the terms and conditions and the eligibility and rebate details below.

General eligibility
  • Your home must have a residential FortisBC natural gas account.

  • The home must be a year-round primary residence at least 12 months old and be either a single-family, duplex, triplex, row home, townhouse or mobile home on a permanent foundation.

  • Applications must be submitted within 6 months of the invoice date. 

  • Only one rebate per home for a primary space heating system and a water heater is allowed.
